Our story
Kris and I met while we were students in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute. She grew up as a TEAM MK (Missionary Kid) in Venezuela and I a farm kid from rural Michigan. We began our missionary service together with TEAM in Venezuela in 1989, serving as chaplain, dorm-parents and teachers at Christiansen Academy, a school for MKs. We went on to work in church planting in Venezuela until 2004. Four of our five kids: Anna, Josh, Beka, and Ben, were born during those years. In 2004 we moved to church-plant in Italy, where our fifth child, Sam, was born. In 2015, we transitioned to live in the US, tasked with launching and leading a brand new mission field for TEAM called NAMA: The North America Ministry Area. During those years we lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan and were helping to lead a church planting effort there as well.
Our current ministry
With the richness of how God has been building into our lives while living and serving in pastoral ministry on three different continents, we are passionate about mentoring and caring for others working in cross-cultural ministry! Out of this passion, God has placed us in Germany serving Him as the Regional Member Care Coordinators for TEAM missionaries serving in Germany, Austria, Spain and Portugal. About 60 workers in all.
